We should act in a way where when people see us they become inspired by our lifestyle and wonder how amazing the Guru must be, if his Sikhs are like this. Our community also does not have that many support groups, many of which are internally divided along political or theological lines. Most Sikhs unfortunately do not lead by example. The biggest factors in someone joining a religion is seeing how people of that religion conduct themselves as well as being surrounded by a support group that helps them become accepted into that religion. We will even hold on to inefficiencies in our life just because we are sentimental about them or too lazy to change. A lot of our beliefs and culture are simply based on our circumstances, family, and tradition. Humans are not rational creatures and oftentimes do not act in their best interest.
